I get a lot of questions about my company and why, after so many years as a successful account executive, I would start "selling juice." The truth is, I never had any idea I would be here before you, talking about cold-pressed anything. But here's some more truth:

When I had a great pregnancy and a healthy daughter at the age of 36, I thought I was in the clear, but with baby number 2, I got pregnant, and miscarried. I tried again, and after 6 months wasn’t able to get pregnant. At that point, I decided to go to a fertility specialist. After testing we discovered that I had a high FSH (indicating low egg count and low egg quality)—the specialist suggested I use donor eggs. This wasn't what I planned. It wasn't what I wanted.

I thought I could 'work' this issue until I was successful, and thus began my fertility odyssey. I did 3 rounds of Clomid, had 6 intrauterine inseminations (IUI), went through 9 attempted in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, and 2 IVFs with gestational surrogate. I had a Dilation and Curettage procedure (D&C), and a medicated miscarriage. I tried fasting, detoxes, Chinese herbs/supplements, blood letting (a Chinese medicine tradition). I saw 5 different acupuncturists, and had over 3000 acupuncture needles inserted. I tried healing with hands, healing over the phone, numerology, tarot cards, intuitive sessions, chiropractors, energy work, crystals, and foot/hand reflexology. I had massages, mediation sessions, fertility yoga sessions, Ayurvedic spa sessions and teachings, and vibrational healings. I used oxygen baths, light healings, liver cleansings, ear candling, Reiki, rebounding and rebounding classes, blood cell tests, uterine surgeries, steam baths, closed colon hydrotherapy, countless books, DVD, CDs, nutritionists, and not surprisingly, psychotherapy.

I ended up mentally and emotionally exhausted, and wow had I spent a ton of money!

Like many women, I was able to get pregnant again, but when each pregnancy ended in miscarriage, I was beside myself. I had no more options. I was kicked out of several fertility clinics—they said they couldn’t help me (and they didn’t want to bring down their statistics). I heard that I was too old to be thinking about having a baby. Ultimately, I was given a less than one percent chance of having a baby.

After all my years of searching and hoping, I came across an institute in Chicago that felt different. At that point, I didn't know if I was just setting myself up once again for disappointment, but I signed up because, well, you can probably tell by now, I'm not one to take no for an answer.

I went there three times a week for training in what to eat, what to drink, how to sleep better, how to exercise properly, detoxing, prayer, and meditation. And then, something amazing started to happen. I started to heal from the inside out. By focusing on my health, and being grateful for what God gave me, rather than focusing on what I didn’t have, I started feeling great in every way!

Everything changed. I was still the same person with the same circumstances, but my body was healing. My heart was healing. I was coming out of the fog of desperation, and the anxiety of infertility.

And then, like a miracle, I was pregnant. At the age of 39, without even trying, we had a very healthy, happy little guy. And, I got pregnant again. This time with a baby girl, without trying—honestly without even thinking about getting pregnant. I think that was God's way of saying that my mind, body, and spirit were ready to receive. I was ready to receive because my diet, lifestyle, and emotional choices made it so. I am so eternally grateful to have learned and experienced what I have. I now consider the infertility, which I once thought was a curse, to be one of my greatest blessings. This is when I decided to learn as much as I possibly could so that I could share my knowledge and my journey of healing with you.

I offer my story and my healing to you as a way of saying, "Everything is going to be okay. It's not going to look at all like you expect. And it's possible that it will be better than you could ever imagine. Have faith. Break down. Get back up again. We're all rooting for you."
